Manage who can enter, where they may go, and when access is permitted.

Access control is a set of decisions before it is a set of readers: who should be allowed in, which doors and zones that covers, on what schedule, and what should happen when someone leaves or changes role. Those decisions are agreed first, then the hardware is chosen to carry them.

How it works

Doors, readers, controllers, locks, exit devices and power are specified together, with credentials matched to the site — card, PIN, fingerprint, face, or a combination where a door warrants it. Cabling, controller placement and fail-safe or fail-secure behaviour are designed around fire egress and how the building is actually used.

Implementation

Once commissioned, permissions, schedules and zones are set up with the people who will administer them, and the event log is configured so entries can be reviewed when needed. iSense supports changes to doors, zones and credentials as the organisation changes.
