X-ray inspection is used where what people carry has to be checked before it goes further, which makes it as much an operational design problem as an equipment one. Tunnel size, conveyor height, loading and collection space, and the position of the operator screen decide whether the checkpoint works at the volume it has to handle.

How it works

Machines are specified for the items being screened and the space available, then installed with the power, shielding and layout the site requires. Image settings are configured and tested with representative bags so operators see what they need to see.

Implementation

Operators are trained on the machine they will use, and the checkpoint procedure — what is flagged, what is opened, who decides — is agreed with the security team. iSense provides servicing, image quality checks and support for the life of the equipment.
