A fire alarm system is a chain: detect the condition, alert the people in the building, and tell the responsible team what is happening and where. A weak link anywhere in that chain costs time, so detection, zoning, notification and the response procedure are designed together rather than bought separately.

How it works

Detector type and placement follow the occupancy and the building fabric, zoning follows how people would actually evacuate, and sounder and beacon coverage is checked against the noise and layout of each area. Panels, loops, cabling, standby power and interfaces to other systems are specified as a complete installation.

Implementation

Commissioning proves each device and each zone, and the cause-and-effect behaviour is demonstrated to the people who will act on it. iSense supports routine testing, device replacement and changes as the building is altered or extended.
